Very glad to hear she is surrounded by loving family, and please give her my very best hopes and wishes for comfort and, ultimately, a peaceful transition. We at DU will carry on the fight for goodness and integrity in this world. All my best to FrustratedLady and her family at this time.

DU is so important, where we all share our frustrations, indignation, political concerns, and support

She joined DU not long after I did. I don't recall all our interactions, but when I did a quick search I found a perfect reply from her - beginning "This is as sweet as it gets" - to my post at https://www.democraticunderground.com/100216601994 . That had brought a smile to my face then, and it did again today.

She fit in so well here, and she will be missed.

I don't know what beliefs your grandmother has about an afterlife - and I don't think beliefs matter, either. My own belief, based on personal experiences and what I've heard from so many people I've met, is that we go on, and there are reunions with loved ones on the other side. I hope you'll have assurances of that, comforting signs.

But whatever your beliefs, you were blessed to share your life with her, and vice versa.
